GotM July ‘25 - Oscar Latimer

The Grappler of the Month award for July goes to Oscar. Oscar has been with Sabre for about 4 months now. He came to us with a bit of a background in Muay Thai and MMA, but no direct experience of a grappling art. In the last 4 months he has developed solid wrestling and takedowns, a secure understanding of BJJ positions and pins, as well as a good repertoire of effective submissions. Everyone loves sparring and training with Oscar. He is always enthusiastic, full of energy and ready for any challenge. Sometimes, if we have odd numbers, I ask if anyone needs a rest round. Oscar is always the first to say “Nope, I’m good to go!”

Recent highlights for Oscar include his win in competition and his promotion to 1 stripe white belt. It won’t take long for Oscar to make more progress and he is keen to compete again soon - in BJJ and in MMA.
