All stars BJJ Europeans ‘26

Sabre Grappling took a team to Crystal Palace on 22/3/26, to compete in the All Stars Europeans.

From beginning to end, this was an excellent day for the Sabre Team. As we are still a young club, growing our own talent, most of the Sabre competitors on the day were in the white belt or beginner divisions.

This was our chance to test ourselves and show that the Sabre way works in competition!

We are so proud of what we achieved as a team! There were some notable success stories (see further down) however, it was the Sabre spirit that mattered the most. Our competitors, and those supporting the team, demonstrated composure, humility and stoicism throughout the day: these values are worth more than any medal.

Now, some individual shout outs:

  • Tony Weyberg took a dominant points victory in his first ever competitive match, securing gold.

  • Leah Murphy won two consecutive matches via submission, securing gold.

  • Danny Halliday won his first match by submission, securing silver.

  • Os Oswald won his first ever competitive match by submission, securing silver.

  • Craig Boon fought a very close match in the final, securing silver.

And a big thank you and well done to everyone else who represented the team.

The Sabre Team will be out in force again soon. Watch this space!
